Hello
First of i would like to apologize to everyone who have actually been checking this blog for not posting anything in a really long time. Believe me believe me time did not go to waste. I have been extremely busy being a dad and trying to figure our to do to gain a steady flow of funding to finish development of the 3d printer that i have been working on. Instead i have found a true calling, something turns out i am really good at producing, and everyone thinks so also.
Let me give me a little flow of events. Some time ago, I was flying my TBS Discovery and was forced to land it due to low battery less then 3 blocks away from the home position and where i was standing, upon landing it i quickly got into a car to go pick up my Disco, but as i was gettin in the car i witnessed someone pick up my model and unplug the battery from me, i raced over to the gps location, and what do u know it was gone.
I cant believe my TBS Discovery was stolen like that, less then 4 minutes from the time i landed it to the time i was at the landing site.
Never fly in Antioch, CA, just a thought to everyone. At the same time loosing my Disco might have been the best thing that has happened to me, becasue at that time i barely had any money but at the same time i really wanted to get back to flying, and a friend of mine told me about mini quads, and people racing, and how its a totally different experience from larger quads, so i went on the internet and searched for a cheap mini quad that i could explore the wonders of.
So the first one i looked at was the QAV250 which they sold a line of sight parts kits for $550, so i thought to myself boy that seems a bit expensive, those guys must make a pretty penny of this stuff, the next day after checking out the QAV i had contacted a buddy of mine who own a small factory in HongKong or next to it at least. I had started talking to him about mini quads and he was all excited because they are expanding his factory into making tons of different rc gear, and if i was interested in purchasing in large bulk. i thought wow what a great idea, This is my chance to get my friends to do something healthy and fun, because as it stood at the moment my friends simply could not afford to get into the hobby due to the price.
I had worked closely with my friend overseas on changing a couple of things in the frame design that i thought was important and honestly i did not like the look of the blackout and i favored the lines and angles of the QAV, so i had pushed to produce a frame that resembled the qav just without all the crazy mark up.
To me it was more important to get my friends into the hobby and only make 30 50 bucks per build then to make 200 per build and sell only a couple of frames a month considering tat i am no body in the rc game, but my knowledge of arduino and just electronics carried over and i was able to quickly be up to par with a lot of guys out there and as of this moment i can honestly say that this mini quad building is turning into a real thing, something that i can do to support my family.
I am little rusty as far as blogging goes so i am goig to take a break at this point but next post i will be explaining to you what setts my 250 sized mini racer quads asside from all the other guys, and what has been making me successful.
So expect to see lots of pictures of many of the builds that i have sold so far, and second most important thing is my pricing, because the number one thing is quality, quality and attention to detail is main thing what set me apart, every quad i build i build like i build it for myself,
See you on the next one
